How to recognize a ripe papaya:
- The skin should
be largely orange colored.
- Its consistency
should be soft.
- It should be stored
at room temperature (up to 25º C).
- A ripe papaya exudes
a delicate aroma, typical of this fruit.
- A green papaya
should not be stored at a temperature lower
than 8º C, because this interrupts its
ripening process.
- How to eat a papaya
in its natural state :
- Cut the fruit lengthwise.
- Remove the seeds.
- Eat it in spoonfuls.
- Do not eat the seeds
or the skin.
- Try it with the
juice of half a lime squeezed over the pulp.
